Eric GoldsteinAssociate Professor

Eric L. Goldstein, Associate Professor (B.A., Emory University, 1992; M.A., University of Michigan, 1994; Ph.D., 2000); joint appointment in the Department of History and Institute for Jewish Studies. American Jewish history and culture, modern Jewish history, American social and cultural history (nineteenth and twentieth centuries). Author of The Price of Whiteness: Jews, Race, and American Identity (Princeton, 2006). Articles include, "Different Blood Flows in Our Veins': Race and Jewish Self-Definition in Late Nineteenth Century America," American Jewish History (1997). Dissertation: "Race and the Construction of Jewish Identity in America, 1875-1945."
