Giving to the History Department

What Your Support Means to Us

Your support transforms the future of our students and inspires our department. More than ever, the generosity of our alumni and friends is needed to help us enhance our academic programs and to sustain path-breaking research. We ask you to join us in our mission.

For many years, our faculty has had a distinguished international reputation in the fields of European and United States history, with an emphasis on medieval and early modern Europe and the American South. In the 1990s, we began expanding our range and our faculty. Latin America was added as an area for graduate work in 1991, Africa in 1993, Asia in 2007.

Recent years have also witnessed our graduate program’s expansion into Jewish History and Ancient History. We offer rigorous and engaged historical study – at both the graduate and undergraduate levels—as we build on our valued tradition of excellence.

We are very grateful for your generosity and encouragement.

Online Contributions

Giving to Emory online is safe and convenient.

To make your gift online, visit the University's secure giving page.

Follow the instructions for entering the amount and your credit card information. Emory University uses a third-party vendor to secure online credit card gifts. (The security certificate is registered with that vendor, so please note that the security warning that appears on the site simply reflects the two names on the certificate.)

If you are making a Special Tribute Gift (Option D), please contact the department to let us know whom your gift honors.

Select "Other Designation" and then write in one of the following:
