Iliana Yamileth Rodriguez (“Yami”) is a historian of US Latinx communities. With a regional focus on the U.S. South, Rodriguez’s scholarship examines Latinx histories in relation to culture, race, ethnicity, labor, and migration. Rodriguez’s current book project, “Mexican Atlanta: Migrant Place-Making in the Latinx South,” traces the history of Metro Atlanta’s ethnic Mexican community formation and the region’s broader Latinx histories beginning in the mid-twentieth century.

Iliana Yamileth Rodriguez (“Yami”) es una historiadora de las comunidades Latinas de E.U. Con un enfoque regional en el sur del pais, Rodriguez examina historias Latinas en relación a cuestiones de cultura, raza, origen étnico, trabajo, y migración. Su primer proyecto de libro actual, “Mexican Atlanta: Migrant Place-Making in the Latinx South,” explora la historia de la comunidad mexicana en el área metropolitana de Atlanta junto con la historia latina de la región a partir de mediados del siglo veinte.
