Brazilian Cultural History
My previous research has focused on Brazilian expositions, and in particular on the 1922/23 Expo hosted by Rio de Janeiro, as a way of exploring identities in Brazil. My interest is in scrutinizing the flourishing multiculturalism during this period. I am drawn to exploring the genesis, development and execution of the Cristo Redentor, examining this topic in the context of ideas about Brazilian identity.
