Biography
I am a second year P.h.D. student born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My research interests center around racial identity and culture, specifically along the intersections of pop culture, technology, and media. I am interested in exploring how neoliberal urban centers in the United States impacted policing tactics and Black criminalization during the middle to late twentieth century. I seek to unpack film, music, television and other cultural mediums to demonstrate how they contribute and shape conceptualizations of the carceral state.
