Biography
I am a first year P.h.D. student born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My research interests center around racial identity and culture, specifically along the intersections of pop culture, technology, and media. I am interested in exploring the impact of how the American dream was designed, and how Black people bought and rejected it. I seek to unpack film, music, television and other cultural mediums to demonstrate how they contribute and shape both ideological changes and conceptualizations of freedom during the middle to late twentieth century.
