  • Fiona O¿Carroll has been awarded a Robert T. Jones Scholarship which provides tuition, room, board and a travel stipend for a year of study at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
  • Benjamin Sollenberger has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach at a university in Turkey in 2014-15.
  • Three of the eight 2014-15 Fulbright grants awarded to Emory students went to history majors. Congratulations to Christopher Linnan (Indonesia), Mia Schatz (France), and Benjamin Sollenberger (Turkey).
  • Congratulations to the 2013-2014 History Dept. senior prize recipients: Kurtis Anderson, awarded the George P. Cuttino Prize; Fiona O¿Carroll, awarded the James Z. Rabun Prize; Daniel Kuzmanovich and Danielle Pitrone, co-recipients of the Matthew A. Carter Citizen Scholar Award.
  • Nathaniel Meyerson was featured in Emory Magazine for undergraduate research he conducted on religion and race in twentieth-century Atlanta under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Crespino.
  • Fiona O'Carroll has won a Fox Center Undergraduate Fellowship to support her honors project directed by Professor Patrick Allitt.
  • Diego Javier Lewis ¿has won a Fox Center Undergraduate Fellowship to support his honors project directed by Professor Cynthia Patterson.  
  • Chloe Burrell,received the 2013 Clio Prize for best paper written in a freshman seminar for her paper "Cruelty: The Shifting Historical Definition."  Burrell was nominated by Professor Judith Miller.
  • Mingshu Liu, received the 2013 Clio Prize for the best research paper written in a jr/sr colloquium for her paper "Love, Courtship, and Marriage in Fifteenth-Century Tudor England: The Story of John Paston III and Margery Brews."  Liu was nominated by Professor Sharon Strocchia.
  • Mingshu Liu, History major advised by Sharon Strocchia, was recently awarded a Dean's Achievement Scholarship for 2013-2014.
  • Preston Hogue, senior honors graduate who did his thesis under Joe Crespino, was interviewed by Steve Goss on WABE, local NPR affiliate.  Click here to listen to the interview.
  • Zachary Domach received the 2013 George P. Cuttino Prize for best record in European History.
  • Jacob Murphy received the 2013 Rabun Prize for best record in American History.
  • Hyeok Hweon Kang received the 2013 Matthew A. Carter Citizen-Scholar Award.
  • Jacob Murphy, senior honors History major, is the recipient of the 2013-2014 Robert T. Jones Jr. Fellowship.  This fellowship provides for a year at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
  • Zachary Domach and Mia Schatz, senior honors History majors, have been awarded CHI Humanities Fellowships 2012-2013.
  • Amanda Hutson, senior honors student, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  Amanda is doing an honors thesis with Professor Jamie Melton.
