Faculty Focus Areas
Our graduate program is designed to provide a common educational and personal experience for all students, regardless of their specific fields of inquiry. First-year students all take a one-semester "Introduction to Advanced Historical Study," co-taught by two faculty with different specializations, and students move together through our TATTO program. Likewise, many of our department seminars for faculty and graduate students are of broad interest.
At the same time, students will naturally work most closely with faculty who share their more specialized geographic and thematic interests. For that reason, we here present the specializations our faculty offer under the seven headings below.
